Draft — not yet in force
What you are buying, and the terms it comes on.
Plain words, because the arrangement is simple: you pay for a key, the key reads the news, and either side can end it. Last revised [placeholder: date in force].
One person, trading as Aurith.
Aurith is not a company. It is run by one person, a sole proprietor in Ontario, Canada: Dilraj Singh Girn, trading as Aurith. "Aurith", "we" and "us" on this page mean that person. "You" means whoever holds the subscription.
The business name "Aurith" is not yet registered. When it is, these terms will be updated to name the registered business.
Access to the Aurith News API.
A subscription buys one API key. The key reads articles from
api.aurith.ca at the rate and from the sources its tier allows. There are
three tiers, priced on Services:
- Basic Every source, in English only, at 10 requests a minute. Not live: articles are released three times a day, at 9:00, 14:30 and 19:30 Toronto time, and a basic key sees only what was written before the latest release.
- Starter The public-record sources only, at 30 requests a minute.
- Full Everything: every category, every region and every language, plus anything added later, at 120 requests a minute.
The list of sources is on Sources. It changes: a feed can be added, and a feed can be switched off, including at a publisher's request. A subscription is to the service as it stands, not to any one source in it.
Never included, at any tier: Aurith's own view of the news — the trading system's direction, strength and reasoning. It is not in any response and is not for sale.
Yours to use. Not yours to resell.
- Use the articles in your own products Show them, store them, build on them, trade on them. Keep the publisher credit that comes with each item.
- The key is yours alone It belongs to the subscriber and is not to be shared, published or passed to anyone else. One key, one subscriber.
- No competing feed You may not resell or redistribute the raw feed as a news feed or API of your own.
[owner to review: these three are the default terms.]
Machine-written, and not advice.
Every article is written by software, from public reporting, quickly. That is the product, and it is also its limit: an article can be wrong — a figure misread, a name mistaken, a sense lost in translation. Check anything that matters against the publisher, who is named on every item.
Nothing Aurith publishes is financial advice. It reports what happened, never what to do about it. No article is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold anything, and any decision you make with it is yours.
As it is, and as available.
The service is provided as it is. There is no promise that it will be uninterrupted, complete, on time, or free of errors. The 181-second median is measured, and it moves; it is a description, not a guarantee.
To the extent the law allows, Aurith's total liability to you for anything arising from the service is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim, and Aurith is not liable for trading losses, lost profit or any indirect loss. Nothing here limits a right that the law says cannot be limited.
It renews until you cancel it.
Payment is taken by Stripe. A subscription renews automatically, monthly or yearly as you chose, and Stripe charges the card it holds at the start of each period until you cancel.
Cancel from Stripe's customer portal: send GET /v1/portal
with your key and it returns the link. No notice period, nothing to email. Access runs to
the end of the period already paid for. The first payment can be refunded if you ask
within 5 days of it; later payments and part-periods are not refunded. The detail is on
Refunds.
It follows the subscription.
- A renewal fails The key keeps working while Stripe retries the card. Fix the card and nothing changes.
- Stripe gives up on the payment The key is revoked. Pay the outstanding invoice and the same key comes back on — there is no need to buy again.
- The subscription ends Cancelled by you, or ended for non-payment: the key is revoked.
- A chargeback is opened The key is revoked the moment the dispute is, and nothing Stripe does afterwards restores it. Write to us.
- These terms are broken A shared key, a resold feed, or use that harms the service can have the key revoked.
Use the key as it was issued.
Each key has a published rate: 10 requests a minute for Basic,
30 for Starter, 120 for Full, measured over a sliding minute. Over it, the API answers
429 with a Retry-After; honour it. Do not get around the rate
with extra keys, do not probe or load-test the service, and do not use it for anything
unlawful. If you need a higher rate, ask — it is a number in a file.
If these terms move, you are told.
When this page changes materially, the date at the top changes and the address on every active subscription is told what moved, [placeholder: notice period, e.g. thirty days] before it applies. Keep using the key after that and the new terms apply; if you would rather not, cancel.
Ontario, Canada.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and any dispute is for the courts of that province.
One address.
hello@aurith.ca for anything on this page, and api@aurith.ca for the API itself. Either reaches the person who runs Aurith.
